I watched the anime adaptation of Golden Kamuy first, as it was available and I have a CR subscription. Afterwards, I knew I had to pick up the manga to see what I was missing. The manga is great, just as funny, delicious, and exciting as the anime, but packed with even more Asirpa faces, poo jokes, and side stories. Really glad I went ahead and started it; now I just wish they'd release the volumes in English a little faster.

This manga is my second favorite only under Berserk. I keep referring to it as the Berserk of gag manga.I can't remember the last time I read anything that had me laugh so often. There is major story in here but the author is definitely a master of his craft. I knew I had to add these books to my collection.They're slightly larger than your average manga. It's really nice because you get more art on a page and it opens a lot easier.There's only about 5 or so books translated out at the moment so I would definitely recommend gathering them up as they come out.This story is definitely a masterpiece in the making.

This book is hilarious! I gave it as a birthday gift but I kind of want one for myself. Tons of cocktail/drink recipes based on books you know and love...or hate! LOL.Each one has a brief review (? not really but kind of) of the book before listing the ingredients and directions for the drink.Very fun gift for anyone that loves books!

Love the recipes, and the variety: simple, complex, sweet, tart, bitter etc. The literary puns were spot-on, and I liked the idea that the drink could match both the themes at work in the story, and sometimes even the literary criticism surrounding the novel. The suggested games at the end were very funny, and the illustrations also added to the whole presentation.My only complaint was the way the cocktails were arranged into male/female categories.Really??Couldn't they be group by flavor, main alcoholic ingredient, literary genre, date of publication?Not only was having two categories unhelpful in terms of finding drinks, it's a little insulting to divide drinks by sex.All in all it was a lovely book, and I can overlook the classification for the most part.

This book says beginner right on the cover. This is not true. Going through the first chapter the book explained some topics clearing but when you begin into the next chapters the book explains virtually nothing. The author does not go into detail about any of the topics and then expects you to understand topics that you have never even seen before. This book has such bad grammar is was hard to read. The grammar was so poor so often that I began to wonder about the validity of the programming information that was being provided (even though there was virtually no programming information). This was a horrible purchase. I am 100% certain that the other reviewers that are not verified purchasers are paid to say what they are saying. I can not be more disappointed with this book. Absolutely horrible.

This book is pretty good. Yes, there are quite a few grammatical errors and could use a bit of editing, but it's not so bad that the book is useless or unreadable as a couple other reviewers here implied. I took a few programming classes in college and do quiet bit of coding in my day job so I already had a solid foundation coming into this and was able to pick this book up and run with it. For those interested in purchasing the book, know that it's very tutorial driven. The author does an excellent job of putting concepts for each chapter into concise and simple terms and then walking you through how to complete each exercise and project step-by-step and shows you exactly how the code should look so you don't get lost. For me, this fit with my learning style perfectly.If you're looking for a textbook that spends dozens of pages boring you to death covering every minute detail of every line of code you're about to write, this book isn't for you. If you want to get up and running quickly with the C# language then this is a great book to start with. And of course, if you get lost and don't understand a certain concept that's being covered, well, there is a such thing as Google and YouTube (among other resources on the web). Terrible book. Horrendous grammar. It reads like a second grader wrote it. No proof reading done whatsoever. Basic programming principles are covered albeit poorly. The book has huge lettering. This book could be half the size if normal sized font was used. Terribly formatted and laid out. It's like this book was done over a weekend and thrown together haphazardly. Why are none of these reviewers who have given this book 5 stars verified purchasers? How could anyone not mention the horrible grammar, I mean come on. Very fishy. For $47 there are way better books out there. If you want to learn C# or programming in general, look elsewhere. I spent $47 on this book and I have a right to leave my review so if someone doesn't like it that’s too bad.

Great book. Lots of code and instruction inside.

I used this book when learning C#, and I found the text and descriptions to be brief and to the point, but still explanatory, with lots of good examples and exercises to be had. For my part, I am happy it wasn’t overly wordy, as I easily “bog down” in too much text. This book has a very hands on approach, and I can recommend it to anyone wanting to learn C#.

An expected evolution in its predecessor! It’s good to see that Jonas has really filled in the blanks for C# students here. As a beginner of C# I wish I had this book back in 2014. Don’t get me wrong here. I like the first book and its great as a reference point but this book is the book I prefer. I would recommend it for any C# beginner. It will make life a lot easier. It’s really is as the name goes, a tactical book.I haven’t even count how many times I went back to this book in the last 3 months when I was doing my internship. Once one has gone through the whole book it can offer some extra gifts. For example, I have discovered how it’s more efficient in some cases to look things up in this book that just googling it. It could be a silly syntax or to wrap you head around ‘reflection’. I promise, it’s much easier to re-grip those concepts when you can go back to the same example and know the context behind those examples. I personally believe, this book will be a future favorite by many C# beginners. The price is definitely worth the contents (with tutorials) you will receive.Thanks Jonas for putting this book together.

If you like games, watch TV and movies, then you will love this comic. Enjoyable, lots of fun, and Highly Recommended!

These are the first graphic novels I've ever read. My general problem with graphic novels is that you can read through one in an hour or two. It hardly seems worth the price when you can get some 1000-page pulp fiction for half the cost. That said, Scott Pilgrim is definitely worth it. It's funny, the characters are engaging, the artwork is a significant part of the story, and O'Malley is able to address some really significant relational issues in a way that is lighthearted without being flippant.The color versions seem worth the price. I don't think I'd enjoy them nearly as much in black and white.My solution to how quickly you can read through one of these was to only read a chapter or two over coffee in the morning. It turned into my favorite part of the day (well, it probably already was; coffee is coffee). Going to sleep at night, I'd be excited to wake up and read a bit more.

ok, first off, I want to say that I read the entire series around ten times and I'm STILL not getting sick of it. I make cartoons on YouTube (TheOdd1sOut) and I'm just sitting on my couch, and after a few pages, I'm just like...AGGGGGHHHHHGGGHHHPLIIIIIIKHHHHGHHBLARGGARGGG(deep breath)...........AGGGHGGGARLLLLLOBBBLLARGBARGKLLLLEI mean, seriously, it's just like making political debates exciting. everyone thought it was impossible until donald Trump and Hillary Clinton came along. this time, It's Bryan O'malley. anyway, this reviews getting really long, and the headline said I was going to say a few jokes..............They are actually my terrible pick up lines I use.1. hey, is your body from McDonalds? cause i'm lovin it.2. baby, i'm no weatherman, but you can expect a few inches tonight.3. do you work at Subway? cause you're givin me a foot long....Yeah, I have a ton of slap marks on my face from when I actually said that to girls.

Since most people that read this edition of Scott Pilgrim will already be familiar with the story, I'm going to review what color does for the story and a bit about the added bonus features.In some ways I'm a traditionalist and I don't really like the trend of coloring black and white comics as it does take a bit away from how the story was originally presented. In the case of Scott Pilgrim, the black and white at times felt perfect for the story as it give it a magnaesque vibe to it that fit well with the storyline. But...at the same time as the series and characters progressed the black and white felt limiting, as we talked about the changes in Ramona's hair color and the fight scenes that shaped the characters. So I am glad to have a chance to read the colorized version of the novel as it brings an added vibrancy and depth to Bryan's work. The colors help make the character come to life and it feels like a good animated Saturday morning cartoon, like Animaniacs, which works well with the story. In particular the color enhances the band and battle scenes, making a good black and white drawing, suddenly feel animated. My favorite scenes in color--Scott's battle sequence with matthew Patel and the demon girls. The color just brings so much to that scene, shadows and highlights that just make things pop. So despite my unease the color really does help create a more vibrant story.This volume also includes some bonus content that reveals the life of Scott Pilgrim, before he became Scott Pilgrim. Bryan shares with us some of his influences, such as the title of a band's song, friends and family that the characters and story were based upon, and how he sold the idea to Oni to create this series of graphic novels. In addition, Bryan shares some more personal reflections such as the feelings of the rather low key release date (due to the publishing of the book being pushed back) as well his ideas and depictions of how the characters evolved as he drew them (always one of my favorite things to see.)In short if you're a fan of Scott Pilgrim then you'll definitely want to add this book to your collection. And if you aren't a fan of Scott Pilgrim or never read it before, give this book a try in its new colorized version. You won't regret it. 5 out of 5 stars.

Bryan O'Malley's run pokes fun at the banalities of life while making you feel like a twenty something kid again. The art is charming and original (even if you read Japanese comics). The diverse cast of characters are unique archetypes that keep you hoping they will come back in every panel. May slightly confuse those unfamiliar with videogame pop-culture, but not enough to distract one from the story. My wife especially loved the interlude short stories. Scott Pilgrim will leave you wishing for more once you've completed this six volume series.
