Bought these for my daughter for Christmas. She read 490 minutes in a 10 day Christmas vacation break and won her entire school's reading award. She couldn't stop reading these books and reading was really hard for her before this. She had to be coaxed into reading before she got these books.

These books were a gift for my eight-year-old daughter who just started loving to read. She flew through these books and loved every minute of it. I would find her reading in bed at night, I would find her reading in bed first thing in the morning. She wanted to talk to me frequently about the things going on with the characters in the book and how great it was. These books are the perfect addition to any second or third grader who wants small chapter books. Maybe even first grade depending on their reading level. It’s fun and quirky and definitely kept Her attention

I love This book series a lot and I have one book with 5 stories that I reed to my 4 year daughter and she loves it. The book I have is hard cover and wonderfuly illustrated with best quality paper. So when I bought this set I was hoping for similar quality even though I saw it was paper cover. But when I received this set I was greatly disappointed with the quality of paper. It is gray paper in black and white print. The paper is such inferior quality worse then throw away coloring books. I could see my daughter was very disappointed too. I am returning this set and will be looking for another one to replace it. I am giving it 3 stars because the story is great but publishing is awful I would not give even one star for the quality.

I love Amelia Bedelia Books but these books are in black and white with hardly any pictures.

Best book series. If I have a child that sad, I bring out an Amelia Bedelia book. We read it together and it is so funny that a smile will come onto the child's face. I would highly recommend this series

My 6 year old grandson is having so much fun reading these and is making up his own Amelia Bedelia-isms.

My daughter loves these books and she just turned 6. :)

The first 8-10 chapters are good and full of stuff that men should know and good suggestions for fathers. There is also some very eye opening stuff that make you reflect on how you're raising your kids and how much time you're spending with them. The last two chapters run off on a tangent and get very political, for that reason I just wouldn't recommend it to many people. I was very disappointed in this. It was also not very well written in terms of literature, but was simple to understand and applicable.

This gem should be on every disciple's Top 25 reading list! It was gifted to me years ago by a brother-in-law mentor when I had a serious girlfriend, and it rocked my world. I repurchase it often to gift to similar young men I am mentoring. This is the truth no one teaches men about real life relationships and how God views a man's role leading a family. So whether you're about to be engaged to be married, or very single and feeling called to step up your man game; this book will challenge you, teach you, and bless you.

Better yet, turn on one-click. You will want to get this book as soon as possible. I have (as my son likes to joke) 972 books on being a dad. Many are good, some are excellent, but I wish I had bought this one first. It's that good. It will motivate you to be the dad all the other 972 books tell you how to be.How? Quite simply, Farrar writes like he knows exactly where you are. You may anywhere from what he describes as being spiritually anorexic or bulimic, or you may be a "point man" - it doesn't matter. He will help you along to the next level. He is realistic enough to recognize that after 25 years of bad habits, you most likely won't be reformed overnight. However, he offers good encouragement to keep at it, do what you know God created you to do.Chapter like "Real Men Don't" and "A One-Woman Kind of Man" will leave many men uncomfortable. Guys, I think too many of us are a "husband of one wife" physically but are cheating mentally or even emotionally, or at least are just not dedicated enough to living our lives God's way. Farrar will encourage you to not just be a husband of one wife, but to be the kind of guy God wants you to be as a matter of total lifestyle. As the book of James points out, "when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin." I think many of us can relate.Although it does have some material on being a father (such as chapters 2, 9, and 10), it's not primarily a book on being a dad. I think Farrar has his priorities in the right place: you can't be a Good Dad until you are a Good and Godly Man. Then come back and read Farrar's "King Me" or one of the 972 other good books on being a dad.Really, the book will probably not really give you any new information. So why get it? Because it will reinforce what you knew to be true, and will (perhaps, with God's help) help you to not just be a hearer of the word, but a doer as well.

As a 20yr old guy, soon to be 21, leading a single life with no relationships so far, & being the oldest of 5 children (with a 10yr gap between the youngest), I found this book to be good because I was always looking for something better outside of my life at my parents house, & just a better life in general. That's when I met one of my now closest friends who has helped me change just through his awesome example (he himself being a father of 3, the oldest of which is the same age as my youngest brother) & the guys/team & system that we both work with now. He is the one that originally suggested this book to me after I had asked him what I should do, considering I'm the oldest, my own dad's been gone a lot of my life for work, and I wanted to see a change in my life where I am currently living: with my family at my parents house. Even though I am not a father, but rather an oldest brother, I still read it and how to apply what I can to my life of just being a Godly example, to anyone, starting out with my house. It'll be hard, given the circumstances, & it is a little scary, but I'm willing, I'm willing to make a difference where I am, and that's all God really needs to make a miracle and a blessing to happen any where in life. I'll just look to see what I CAN apply in my life, given my situation.

For 4 years I was a pretty bad husband. I would put my friends, my drinking, my job, just about everything before my wife. I have always known right from wrong, but as far as what it is to be a husband, I was completely clueless. Based up on the role model I had growing up, a husband provides the money by working constantly, and is emotionally and phyiscally distant. Boy was I wrong. Sadly my marriage is very much on the rocks right now. My wife had finally had enough, I had pushed her to the very brink, quite possibly over. She moved out about a month ago. Shortly before she did though, I had the strangest epiphany, God opened my eyes and showed me just how much I truly loved this amazing woman, and also showed me just how much I had hurt her and what I had put her through. It was at that exact moment that I realized what I had to do. Completely turn my life around. I just didn't know where to start. Then I remembered several months back our counselor recommended that I read Point Man. So I got it, downloaded it on my phone, and two days later had finished reading it. My entire outlook on life, marriage, and what it is to be a husband (and God willing a father one day) was completely changed. I now finally knew what my role was, and also saw how pathetically I had failed in that role for so long. I vowed to God that I would never stray from this path that he had set me upon, and that he help me to save my marriage with this incredible woman. That was a little over a month ago. The old me would promise to change and then no more than a week later would be back to his old ways. Me now though, Ha, not a chance. Thanks to God opening my eyes and my heart, and to Steve Farrar and his work (also read Real Valor, another great), I now am equipped to be the kind of husband that my wife can be proud of, and the kind of man that is after God's own heart. If you have come to the self realization that you have some serious shortcomings as a husband and you aren't sure of how to fix it, read this book!!!

This review is for both the Old Testament and New Testament books.I was a fan of the Brick Testament website long before the books came out and I've read through the entire site so I was reluctant to buy the books since I had already seen it all.I was very impressed with how well they were done. They pretty much look like large graphic novels and read very easily.These books are an EXCELLENT resource for showing people some of the ridiculous and immoral garbage that's in the Bible. I laugh when I read negative reviews complaining that it's too graphic for kids. I wonder if those same people write similar reviews on non-illustrated versions of the same story from which they so love to claim they get their "moral compass."I did dock one star because I didn't think that the Table of Contents were sufficient, and there was no index, making it very difficult to reference things.I understand the logic behind not referencing every verse directly on each cell, but I think these books do a poor job in cross-referencing the actual Bible so that you know where you are in the story, or how to find a particular story. Part of the purpose of having a printed copy is for situations where you don't have the internet or site readily available, so expecting the reader to go to the website for the list of books and verses seems a bit lazy. To be fair, in the New Testament version, they did add the applicable verses on each page but they buried it deep in the spine of the book, which is poor placement in my opinion. The referenced verses should be clearly printed in the extra black space on the bottom of each page so you don't have to damage the binding to get to them.The Table of contents was minimal in the Old Testament version, and practically non-existent in the New Testament version (3 entries). There should have been an entry for each of the major stories and each book of the Bible so that the reader can quickly access them. I would also like to see some sort of "tabbing" on the right side of each page indicating which Bible book you are in.Overall, I'm still pleased with the book and the author does an amazing job of exposing these stories for what they are, but it's quite frustrating that they left out important tools for people who like to cross-reference the Bible or look for certain stories with ease.

I gave this to my son three years ago when he was 6, and he is still reading it as a 9-year-old (it's well worn). He loves Legos and so this was a great fit. It's not 100% accurate in terms of representing the Bible stories, but that's a fair trade-off because it gets my son interested in the Bible, and opens up dialogue for us to talk about God and the stories from the Bible. He asks me lots of questions and we have lots of good discussions. He even points out some of the places that are a little off, since he has also learned a lot from church. I also gave my son the other Brick Bible on the Old Testament, and he loves that one as well.

We have a number of this author's books for kids and thought that we would try the adult version. Maybe I'm juvenile, but the images in this book are too graphic for my taste. Definitely NOT appropriate for children of any age. I guess I'll be sticking with the kid version.

We own the Old Testament and have NO problem. This is my 2nd cop of the New Testament and both are DEFECTIVE. The spine is unglued from the book in BOTH copies :(

Book format is very good. Pictures and reading is easy. Would be 5 stars if the book binding didn't fall apart the day we got it. Poor quality of book but content is excellent

Nothing wrong with the book itself, it's great, and the lego builds in are very creative. The problem is the way the book is held together, the glue in the back comes apart, and the cover won't really stay on for so long...

Beware this book seeks to distort and even destroy the beauty of the bible. It seeks to potray God as egotistical, self-seeking, hateful and murderous God and not the God of love, mercy compassion and forgiveness that he truly is.This book is not suitable for young readers.
